Emogene F. "Jean" Word, 85, of Lake Panasoffkee, Fla., made her transition on Monday, March 25, 2013, at Inverness. She was born Oct. 1, 1927, in Columbus, Ohio. Mrs. Word worked for General Motors in Columbus, Ohio as a quality inspector for 32.5 years. She was a member of the VFW Aux. #10084 and the Women of the Moose of Lake Panasoffkee; M.O.C. Aux. PF#47 of Leesburg; and a member of First Baptist Church of Lake Panasoffkee. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jerald Word; brothers, Delmar, and Lacey; and sister, Eileen. She is survived by her daughters, Dolores (James) Martin of Dothan, Ala., and Barbara Word of Lake Panasoffkee; grandchildren, Heather Martin, John (Kym) Pruyn, and Andy (Shobha) Pruyn; great-grandchildren, Antonette and Ciara; sisters-in-law, brother-in-law, numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends. A visitation will be at the Purcell Funeral Home Chapel, Bushnell, from 10 to 11 a.m. Friday, March 29, 2013. Services will follow at 11 a.m., with Pastor Jon King and Pastor Randy Alonso presiding. Interment will be at Florida National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, a donation may be made to the Salvation Army, P.O.
