Harold L. Rannebarger
Harold L. Rannebarger, 90, Sunbury, died Saturday afternoon April 27, 2013, at his daughter's home.
He was born on December 23, 1922, in Orange Township, Delaware County to the late Raymond R. and Bessie A (Grooms) Rannebarger. He was a graduate of Orange Township School and a World War II Army Air Corp Veteran. He retired from Rockwell International as an Engineering Analyst in 1984 with 23 years of service. Harold was also a lifelong farmer, worked for North Electric, ODOT and was a part time bus driver for Big Walnut School District. He was a former Boy Scout Troop leader for Troop No. 347.
Harold loved to farm and raised animals on the farm while working a full time job. He also enjoyed photography, bird watching and feeding his fish in his pond.
He is survived by his wife of almost 70 years, Dorothy (Daughters) Rannebarger, whom he married June 16, 1943, at Chanute Field, Illinois; sons Tom (Susan Hubbard) of Westerville, Tim of Minerva Park and Steve (Debbie) of Sunbury; daughters Cathy (John) Hufnagle of Marysville, Theresa "Teri" (Mark) Nakama of Sunbury and Peggy (Andy) Wallace of Sunbury; 15 grandchildren; and by 12 great-grandchildren.
Preceded in death by a son Charles; by brothers William, Charles and Raymond; and by a sister. Alma Postle.
Calling hours were held Wednesday, May 1, and a Prayer Service at the DeVore-Snyder Funeral Home, Ohio 3 at 61, Sunbury.
Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated Thursday, May 2, at St. John Neumann Catholic Church, 9633 Ohio 37 East, Sunbury with Fr. David Sizemore Celebrant.
Interment followed in the Hunt Cemetery near Center Village with military graveside services provided by the Delaware County Veterans Association.
