Virginia Lee "Ginny" Bartholomew

Virginia Lee "Ginny" Bartholomew passed from this life on Monday (April 22, 2013) in New York City.
She is survived by her parents, Karen Corbitt (Sunbury) and Rev. William Bartholomew (Elmore, Ohio), her sister and brother-in-law Laura and Ted Stimmel, niece Heather Stimmel, nephew Jordan Stimmel (Sunbury), her stepfather Joe Bartholomew (Vermont), her stepdaughter Coral Tolisano (New York City), her stepson Nik Tolisano (California), and her beloved partner/spouse/love of her life, whom she called the "best man I know," Jim Tolisano (New York City).
Ginny was born March 16, 1973, in Albia, Iowa, graduated from Big Walnut High School in Sunbury in 1991, completed her BA in Theater Arts with a minor in Psychology at Mount Union College in Alliance, in 1995 and established her career in New York City.
She was an accomplished actor and director, recognized and awarded for her work on stage and on film. She was a teaching artist with Hudson Valley, Pennsylvania, Shakespeare Festival and coached public speaking for the Kinship Conservation Fellows and NYU's Capstone program. Besides the stage, her other passion was the Shakespeare workshop program she led for persons with early Alzheimer's.
Ginny was honored with a memorial service on Wednesday, April 24, in New York City and was buried on April 25 in Sleepy Hollow Cemetery in Sleepy Hollow, New York.
A second memorial service will be held in Sunbury, on May 5 from 4 until 8 p.m. at Autumn Lakes Campground located at 8644 Porter Central Road. A short service will begin at 6:30. Casual dress, please.

Ginny was our treasure for 40 years, one month and six days. Her beautiful smile, lilting voice, unfailing optimism, fierce love and generous heart will be sorely missed.
