Joyce Beatrice Anderson 1939 ~ 2015 Saucier Joyce Beatrice Anderson, age 75, of Saucier, passed away on April 12, 2015. She was preceded in death by her husband, David Anderson, father, William Andrews, mother, Nadine Meiser, and a brother, Bill Andrews. Survivors include her children, Jeanette (Bill) Brown, Nancy (Joey) Burton, a sister, Carolyn Bellamy, a brother, Jim (Carmela) Andrews, 3 grandchildren, Brandon (Kimberly) Brown, Bryan (Stephanie) Brown, and Dusty Burton, 3 great-grandchildren, Finley, Grayson, and Hailey, and other family and friends. She retired from Hooper's Electronics after many years, member of a Red Hat Society, and Gulf Pines Camping Club. She was a HAM radio operator under the handle WB5LKC. A graveside service will be held at 10 AM on Thursday, April 16, 2015 in the Biloxi National Cemetery. Anderson, Peter  
Peter Michael Anderson 1931 ~ 2015 Ocean Springs Peter Michael Anderson, a loving father and devoted husband, died at 7:44 pm Sunday, April 12, 2015. Michael was born February 21, 1931, in New Orleans, Louisiana, and then returned to the family home in Ocean Springs, Mississippi. He enjoyed a rare and beautiful childhood. He was born into a family of artists including his father, Peter Anderson , master potter and founder of Shearwater Pottery, and his two uncles, Walter Inglis Anderson and James McConnell Anderson. Michael attended Perkinston Junior College and served in the Army for two years during the Korean War. He worked as a taxidermist at the Field Museum of Natural History in Chicago. Upon returning to Ocean Springs in the early 1960s, he worked at Ferson Optics for many years, finally returning to work at Shearwater in the mid 70's. Michael was an adept story teller and writer. He enjoyed gardening, listening to music and cooking for family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Peter and Patricia Anderson. Survivors include his wife, Maria Macapos Anderson, his two daughters, Neva Brooke Anderson and Patricia Holly Anderson, three grandchildren, Fawn Elizabeth Anderson, Harper Emile Anderson and Harold (Beau) Vincent Toop IV, two great-grandchildren, Leo Hendrix Palazzo and Leo Alexander Joseph Anderson, one brother, James ( Margaret) Anderson, two sisters, Patricia Anderson Findeisen and Marjorie Anderson Ashley, as well as numerous cousins, nieces and nephews. Visitation will be on Thursday, April 16, from 11am ~ 12 noon, with a 12 noon church service, all at St. John's Episcopal Church. Burial will follow in Biloxi National Cemetery. Tom A. Atkins October 1, 1933 - April 11, 2015 Picayune Tom A. Atkins, age 81, of Picayune, Mississippi passed away Saturday, April 11, 2015. Visitation will be held Monday, April 13, 2015 from 1:30 until 3:00 p.m. at Picayune Funeral Home. Funeral service will follow at 3:00 p.m. at Picayune Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be at New Palestine Cemetery. Mr. Atkins was a Veteran of the U.S. Army, and a former accountant. He is survived by two sons, Micheal Atkins of Cedar Park, Texas, and Alan Atkins of Liberty, Texas; one daughter, Cynthia Sharkey of Picayune; 23 grandchildren; and 6 great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents, Franklin and Mary Atkins; and one son, Stephen Atkins. Arrangements are under the direction of Picayune Funeral Home.
