Pyle, David - Holly Lake Ranch  
David Warren Pyle March 12, 1940 -- May 31, 2015 Holly Lake Ranch, Texas David Warren Pyle of Holly Lake Ranch, Texas lost his battle with Alzheimer's on May 31, 2015. He was born in St. Louis, Missouri on March 12, 1940 to Howard and Edythe Pyle. His early years were spent in Mississippi and Tennessee until the family settled in Gulfport when David was in junior high. He graduated from Gulfport High School where he was voted most popular and class favorite. He received a Bachelor of Science degree from Southern Mississippi College, Hattiesburg, Mississippi where he was active in campus life, especially in Pi Kappa Alpha Fraternity where he served in numerous capacities. He was in the Army National Guard Airborne Division during high school and college. He was a born salesman working for Lever Brothers, Gillette, and Alberto-Culver before joining Combe, Inc. where he was vice-president of sales for the southwest region. He and his wife, Nancy, resided in Denton, Texas until their retirement in 1999 when they moved to Holly Lake Ranch. They enjoyed traveling, playing golf, visiting their grandchildren, and participating in community and church activities. David never met a stranger. During his time at Holly Lake he loved feeding the deer and was best known for giving boat tours of the lake, letting everyone feed "his" catfish, giving the fastest golf cart rides around the ranch, and for making all feel welcome in his home. David was preceded in death by his parents and stepson Dean Kelley, Jr. He is survived by his wife Nancy, children Liz and Scott Lowry, Charles Pyle, Cheryl Coperude, Shanna and George Hardesty, Kyle and Amy Kelley, grandchildren Maggie and Katelyn Coombs, Chase David Pyle, Ryan and Stepfanie Coperude, Megan Hardesty, and Katie, Courtney, and Caleb Kelley. Other survivors include his brother Michael Pyle, sister-in-law Bobby Schultz, and brother-in-law Rex Donaldson. A celebration of life service will be held Friday, June 5th at 2 p.m. at Holly Brook Baptist Church, 3219 South FM 2869, Hawkins/Holly Lake, Texas. Payne, Eddie  
SMSgt Eddie Hill Payne, USAF, Ret. 1919 ~ 2015 Biloxi Eddie Hill Payne, age 96, of Biloxi, passed away on May 27, 2015. He was born in Walnut Grove, AL and joined the Army just as WWII broke out. He later switched to the US Air Force and retired as a Senior Master Sergeant with 29 years of service. He served in China during WWII and spent one tour in Vietnam. His first half of military duty was in the communications field with his later half spent as a First Sergeant. He was assigned all over the world, but he kept migrating back to Keesler AFB in Biloxi, MS. After his retirement in 1970, he and his wife, Myrtle, traveled all over the world and extensively throughout the United States. He was an avid hunter and fisherman. He built a 32 foot shrimp boat in his back yard and launched it 4 years later. He commercially shrimped the gulf waters for the next 13 years. He was preceded in death by his wife, Myrtle, and 2 brothers. He is survived by his sister, Mary Winkley, 3 children, Ed Payne, Trisha Mann, and Tommy Payne, Sr., 6 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren. Visitation will be Friday, June 5, 2015, from 8:30 AM - 9:30 AM at the RIEMANN FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 274 Beauvoir Road, Biloxi. The funeral service will be at 9:30 AM in the funeral home chapel. Parten, Maurice Dane  
Maurice Dane Parten 1931-2015 Long Beach, MS Maurice Dane Parten, a resident of Long Beach, age 83, died on Thursday, May 21, 2015. Dane was born in Springfield, Missouri to William and Neva Parten. He was a graduate of Okanogan High School in Washington State and served in the United States Air Force during the Vietnam War as an aircraft mechanic. He retired after 26 years and received the U.S. Air Force Commendation Medal for Meritorious Service at Nakhom Phantom AFB of Thailand. After military service, he worked at Sears in the appliances and parts division. He had many hobbies that included gardening, restoring antiques, and making toys for his grandchildren. Perhaps more than anything, Dane will be remembered for his great sense of humor. He was preceded in death by his wife, Helen Jo McRaney Parten; his brothers, Charles, Delford, and James Parten; and his sisters, Maranell and Martha Sue. He is survived by his sons, Jon Ty (and Laurie) Parten of Issaquah, WA, and Josh Lamar Parten of Long Beach; his daughter, Dana (and Tommy) Wittmann of Gulfport; his grandchildren, Jon and Elissa Parten, Kristi Wittmann (and Brandon) Webb, Marian Wittmann, Samantha Ryals, and Abigail Parten. Services will be held Thursday, May 28, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. at RIEMANN FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 19130 Commission Road in Long Beach. Friends are invited to visit one hour prior to the service. Phillips, Mary  
Mary Martin Phillips Nov. 22, 1936 - May 26, 2015 Pascagoula, MS Mary Jane Martin Phillips, a life-long resident of Pascagoula, died on May 26, 2015. A 3:00pm Mass of Christian Burial will be Friday May 29, 201 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Visitation will be one hour prior to the mass. Burial will be at Machpelah Cemetery in Pascagoula. Father Mike Kelleher will officiate. Mrs. Phillips was born November 22, 1936 in Bayou Cassotte, Ms. Mrs. Phillips loved her Catholic faith and was an active member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church. She was a member of the Altar Society. An active volunteer in her community all her life, she was a member of Patio Planters Garden Club, Pascagoula Civic Guild, Pascagoula-Moss Point Junior Auxiliary, most recently a member of DAR, serving as Regent, Duchess de Chaumont Chapter, and a member of CAR. While her children were young, she volunteered as a room mother and was a Grey Lady volunteer. Mary worked at Ingalls Shipbuilding as an Administrative Assistant in the Programming Office for 22 years. All her life, she was an avid gardener, master seamstress, sewing each of her daughters' wedding dresses and a fabulous cook and hostess. She was a loving mother, grandmother, sister, friend, and a devoted wife to L.R. "Skip" Phillips, Jr. Mrs. Phillips was preceded in death by her husband, L.R. "Skip" Phillips, Jr., her father, C.B. Martin, Sr., her mother, Frances Thierry Martin, her brother, Charles B. Martin, Jr., and her sister, Frances Martin West. Survived by daughter, Cynthia "Cindy" (Alan) Whitley, Gautier; daughter, Ann (Clay) Beard, Madison; daughter, Mary (Stephen) Burrow, Pascagoula; grandchildren, Julia Whitley, Joseph Whitley, Thierry Beard, France Beard, Patton Beard, Victoria Burrow, Phillip Burrow, Elizabeth Burrow, Evan Burrow; brother, Joe (Harriett) Martin; sisters, Barbara (Jimmy) Green, Shirley (Tommy) Rasmussen, Pat (Danny) Smith, sister-in-laws, Margaret Martin and Annette (Jerry) Terry; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, family and friends. In lieu of flowers, the family request donations be made to Resurrection Catholic Elementary School 3704 Quinn Drive, Pascagoula, MS 39581. Mildred "Tee" Falcon Prejean February 27, 1924 - May 19, 2015 Baton Rouge, LA Mildred Prejean passed away on May 19th at St. Clare Manor in Baton Rouge, LA. Mildred was born and raised in Donaldsonville, LA. Funeral services were held on May 21st at Ourso Funeral Home and Ascension of Our Lord Catholic Church in Donaldsonville, LA. She is survived by her eight children - Daughters Rebecca May (Dusty) & Vivian Holder; Sons Michael, Pat (Dorothy), Lee, Steven (Cookie), Jeffrey & Bennie Prejean (Luis) ; former husband & father of her eight children, Bob Prejean; brother, C.J. Falcon; sister-in-law Marie Abadie Falcon; half-sister Beverly F. Jung; former son-in-law Bubba Holder & former daughter-in-law Jill Miglicco Prejean. Ten grandchildren - Robert & Travis May, Robert (Kacey), Heather & Morgan Holder, Candace Naquin (Dustin) & Derek (Shawna) Prejean, Ross & David Dies & Mia Scherer. Nine great grandchildren - Farrah, Walker, Davis & Riels Holder, Alexis & Dylan Naquin, Payton, Zade & Zeph Prejean; one great-great-grandchild, Grayden Lassabe & 21 of her 37 first cousins. Mildred was loved by all and known for her sweetness & beauty and devotion to her family. She resided in Baton Rouge & Jennings, LA and Pass Christian & Gulfport, MS before returning home to her family & friends in Donaldsonville, LA.
