Hershberger, Basil - Muncie  
Basil Ray Hershberger 1940 ~ 2015 Muncie, IN Basil Ray Hershberger, 74, passed away Monday, March 23, 2015 at his residence. He was born on July 15, 1940 in Muncie, Indiana to Basil E. and Ruth Hershberger. He was a 1958 graduate of Royerton High School. Ray honorably served his country in the United States Air Force for 24 years, retiring at Keesler Air Force base. He returned to Muncie, Indiana after Hurricane Katrina hit Biloxi in 2005. He was big hearted and generous, always helping those in need. Survivors include: children, Robin (Michael) Caldwell of Biloxi, MS, Renita (Richard) Coleman of Biloxi, MS, Ray Dennis Hershberger of Biloxi, MS; grandchildren, Patrick Ray Hershberger, Jessica Dawn Coleman, Bayleigh Caldwell, all of Biloxi, MS; sisters, Reah (Earl) Schwartzkopf of Estes Park, CO, Janice (Jan) Oliver of Muncie, IN; nieces and nephews, Nicole (Anthony) Morris, Gabriella, Mackenzie, Brice (Sarah) Oliver, Madison, Victoria, Kira, Ross, David York, Bill (Kendra) York, Zane, Caden, Beckett, special friend Marsha Alfont. Ray is preceded in death by his wife, Oundrea Rawson, and his parents. Visitation will be Monday, March 30, 2015 at Riemann Family Funeral Home, 274 Beauvoir Road, Biloxi, Mississippi from 11:00 a.m.-1:00 p.m. Burial will follow at The National Cemetery. Hubert Fay "Smokey" Hill 1928-2015 Ocean Springs Hubert Fay "Smokey" Hill, Sr., 86, of Ocean Springs, MS died peacefully surrounded by family Monday, March 23, 2015 in Ocean Springs, MS. Mr. Hill is preceded in death by his parents, Lawrence Hill and Charlene Hudson Hill; brother Lawrence C. Hill; sons Hubert F. Hill Jr.; David Brian Hill; grandson Chuckie Hill; and first wife Joyce Boyd Hill. He is survived by his second wife Glenda Hill of Ocean Springs, MS; brother Tommie (Freda) Hill of Gulfport, MS; sister Carolyn (Dale) Boyd of Vancleave, MS ; sister-in-law Gladys Hill of Gulfport, MS; son Chuck (Angela) Hill of Vancleave, MS ; daughters Fay (Chip) Houlihan of Ocean Springs, MS, Adrianne Sullivan of Vancleave, MS; his step children Jody (Christie) Fountain of Ocean Springs, MS , Rodney (Kelley) Fountain of Ocean Springs, MS; Deedy (Steve) Gallagher of Ocean Springs, MS, and Trudy (Derrell) Fountain-James of Argyle, TX; 54 grandchildren, and many other relatives and friends. Mr. Hill was a successful business owner of Pascagoula Sheet Metal Works, Inc. He was an adventurous spirit; an avid pilot and motorcycle enthusiast, even traveling cross-country by bike recently. Mr. Hill was of the Catholic faith. He touched many lives through his work with the church and mission trips. Funeral services will held on Friday, March 27, 2015 with visitation from 3 to 5 p.m. at St. Alphonsus Catholic Church, 502 Jackson Avenue, Ocean Springs, MS. A mass for Mr. Hill will begin at 5:00 p.m. Fellowship will follow in the KC Hall from 6 to 8 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to St. Vincent de Paul Pharmacy, 715 Division Street, Biloxi, 39530. MSgt Harvey Lee Holloway, USAF, Ret. 1932 - 2015 Ocean Springs, MS MSgt Harvey Lee Holloway, USAF, Ret, age 82, a native of Missouri and a resident of Ocean Springs, MS passed away on Wednesday, March 25, 2015. He was preceded in death by his parents, Samuel and Sylvia (Marrs) Holloway; his brothers, James Holloway, Melvin Holloway, and Roy Holloway; and his sisters, Jo Holloway, Retha Mae Holloway, and Dondena "Tootsie" Rossie. He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Lavada Smith Holloway; his children, Dwight (Debi) Holloway, Ron (Laura) Holloway, Darrel (Cindee) Holloway, and Scott (Penny) Holloway; his siblings, Dora Leen (Charles) Wilmoth, Harlon Dee (Ruby) Holloway, and Larry Wayne (Genell) Holloway; his grandchildren, Heather (Chris) Bartlett, Veronica Holloway, Brandon (Sabrina) Holloway, Ashley Holloway, Jamie (David) Ainsworth, Christy (Jeremy) Martin, Johnny (Robin) Holloway, Emily Holloway, and Erin (Danny) DuPree; his great-grandchildren, Aleah Bartlett, Jillian Holloway, Karson Holloway, Karlee Holloway, Kaden Barnes, Charlotte DuPree, Christian Barnes, Gabriel DuPree, Sophia Ainsworth, Lainey Bartlett, Hayden Ainsworth, and Lily Martin; and his sisters-in-law, Billie Holloway, Carolyn Holloway, and Ellen Holloway. Mr. Holloway received a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Southern Mississippi and a Master's degree from William Carey College. He retired from the U.S. Air Force as a Master Sargent after 21 years of service. In 1970 he was named Instructor of the month at Keesler Air Force Base. Mr. Holloway taught Math and Computer Science at St. Martin High School for 22 years. He loved recording his family life in pictures and film. He served as a deacon and a church officer at Emmanuel Baptist Church in Ocean Springs. "PePaw" loved his Grandkids. In lieu of flowers please give to the Emmanuel Baptist Church Food Pantry, 401 Holcomb Blvd., Ocean Springs, MS 39564. The funeral service will be held on Saturday, March 28, 2015, at 3:00 p.m. at Emmanuel Baptist Church, Ocean Springs with a visitation for family and friends two hours prior to the service. The burial with full military honors will be held on Monday, March 30, 2015, at 11:00 a.m. at Biloxi National Cemetery. Hudgins, James  
James Vernon Hudgins Mar. 30, 1935 - Mar. 22, 2015 Moss Point, MS James "Vernon" Hudgins, 79, passed away on Sunday, March 22, 2015, in Moss Point, MS. He was raised in Lucedale, MS but lived most of his life in Moss Point, MS. He was an ordained Deacon of First Baptist Church of Moss Point (SBC), a 32 degree Scottish Rite Mason, and a Joppa Shriner. He retired from Chevron as a Head Operator and was a veteran of the U. S. Army National Guard. Vernon was preceded in death by his parents, Van and Edith Byrd, and his daughter, Pamela Lynn Hudgins Wagner. He is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Johnnie Mae (Goff) Hudgins; stepson, Robert E. (Sue) Amonett, Sr.; four grandchildren, Matthew (Jen) Wagner, Robby Amonett, Jamie (Tammy) Amonett, and Nicole Amonett; two great-grandchildren, Jackson Wagner and Jayden Amonett; sister, Jean Hudgins Board; along with other relatives and friends. The family would like to give special thanks to Southern Care Hospice and special Nurse Shyann for their love and care of Vernon. The visitation will be held on Wednesday, March 25, 2015, from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Heritage Funeral Home in Moss Point, MS. The funeral service will be held Thursday, March 26, 2015, at 11:00 a.m. at First Baptist Church of Moss Point (SBC) with Bro. Michael Perry officiating. The family will receive friends for one hour prior to the funeral service. Interment will follow at Machpelah Cemetery in Pascagoula, MS with the deacons and members of the John Brock Sunday School Class of First Baptist Church serving as pallbearers.
