We met Joe and Maggie on the island of Okinawa in April 1978. They were our neighbors. We remained friends with Joe and Maggie. Joe was such a helpful man. He was always there for our 3 children. He taught our oldest daughter to ride a dirt bike. We will never forget his kind and happy spirit.

Mr. Berry was a Huge part of our family as my sister and I grew up. I can remember him coming over for thanksgiving every year and showing up bright and early on Saturday mornings with a diet coke in one hand and some kind of chocolate goodie for us in the other. Its hard to believe that he is gone. Mr. Berry was a great man and we will miss him very much!

My heartfelt condolences go out to Joe's Family & Friends. Joe and I were fellow First Sergeants in the Keesler Student Group in the late 1980's. A great guy! After Joe retired I'd run into him on occasion out at Keesler. Always a smile and a good word...
RIP in Joe.

I worked with Joe back at Cody Hall in the 80's. He was a great guy who cared about his people. It has been a few years since I bumped into him while at the Commisary or BX, but he was just as smiling and friendly as always. He will be missed.
