Michael Joseph Emile, 54, passed away on October 19, 2014 in Biloxi, MS.
Michael was a proud Biloxian, born on October 11, 1960 to parents Madelyn Maumus and Toby Emile, Jr.
A 1979 graduate of Biloxi High School, and an avid sportsman, he loved growing up on the Mississippi Gulf Coast. He spent his life fishing and working on the waters of the Gulf of Mexico. He was employed with Seacor Marine of Houma, LA as a supply boat captain.
His love of fishing was only rivaled by his love for football. He was a devoted Alabama Crimson Tide and New Orleans Saints fan.
He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Joseph and Lillian Maumus; and paternal grandparents, Otto Toby and Marjorie Emile.
Michael was loved and will always be remembered by his loving parents; his brother, Stanley (Cindy) Fournier; his sister, Sherry (Orin) Eleuterius; his sister and best friend, Louise (John) Leckich; nieces, Lili (Jordan) Ray, Maggie Fournier, and Bonnie Eleuterius; and nephew, Orin (Amanda) Eleuterius.
In lieu of flowers, the family prefers donations to the Wounded Warrior Foundation, PO Box 758517, Topeka, KS, 66675.
Family and friends are invited to attend a Memorial Mass at Our Lady of Fatima on Thursday, October 23, 2014 at 12:00 p.m. Friends may visit from 10:30 a.m. until the Mass. The Howard Avenue Chapel of Bradford-O'Keefe Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Sending my deepest heartfelt sympathy to all of Mikey's family and friends. He was truly a great man with a heart so filled with love. He was a friend till the end! I am deeply saddened by his passing and will never forget how much he loved me and my family! I will be looking for the new star in the sky tonight Mikey! May God bless you and your family.

Dear Mrs. Madeline, Mr. Toby, and Family, It was truly a shock to hear about Michael. I grew up with Michael and have always considered him a true friend. He spent many, many days at my house picking on me, playing pool, playing risk with my brothers, ( which sometimes took days and the board would be stored under Tim's bed until everyone got together again)playing football, playing basketball, going out in the boat, or just hanging out and aggravating me!! That seemed to be the "speciality" of the neighborhood guys. All in all, Michael was a lot of fun and I have many special memories of him. Thanks for sharing him with me. He will be missed!!!

I have had the honor of knowing Mike Emile all of my life. I also had the privilege of Mike calling me his friend. Through the years, Mike and I would tease each other about football: he being a Bama fan and me being an Ole Miss fan. When I was told of his passing, I told my wife and daughter that Mike was the happiest person in Heaven. He can now watch Bama play while sitting on the 50-yard line, drinking beer, and sitting next to Bear Bryant. I have always loved and looked up to Mike. From a truly life-long friend. Martin Baronich

Mike, I write this with tears in my eyes and sadness in my heart. You have truly been a wonderful neighbor and friend. I will miss your silly stories and your bellowing voice. Dear Louise, John and entire family I want to express my deepest synpathy on your terrible loss. I know from the many stories John told about Michael, his love for cooking and such that you have sustained a huge loss, I know how you feel, I also want to say I'm praying for each of you as you go through this difficult time. It has been a while since I have seen you Michael but you were always such a sweet cousin to me when I was at your house. I will always remember you as a very sweet spirit and I pray God gives the family the comfort and peace that only He can give them at this time of loss for them. We will see you again in the future.
