Covington, LA

Jack Richard Mincher, Lt. Colonel Retired, passed away on the morning of February 24, 2015 in Covington, Louisiana. Born November 22, 1922, Jack is a native of Long Beach, Mississippi. He was the beloved husband of Kathryn Burleson Mincher, loving father of Laura Mincher Hamlin, Lawrence Gordon Mincher and Thomas Richard Mincher, and son of the late Lillie Taylor Mincher and George Albert Mincher.

Jack is a World War II veteran and a hero to both country and family. He served in both France and Germany, crossing the English Channel with Patton's Third Army. Mr Mincher was a true gentleman in my experience with him. I came to know "Mr Jack" through his son Larry. I came to respect and appreciate his qualities because he raised a son of faith who has great love and respect for other people. The Mincher family has made a full and positive impact upon the Covington community. Accordingly, we locals are in Mr Jack's debt. Moreover, our entire nation is in the debt of veterans like Jack Mincher.
Sincerely, Jim and Theresa Currie, FBC-Covington
