Francis J. "White" Moran, age 81, of Lizana, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on Sunday, November 18, 2012.
Mr. Moran was a lifelong resident of the Lizana community and he retired after 29 years as the assistant Fire Chief at the Navy CB Base. He served in the U.S. Army during the
Korean War and was a member of the Joe Graham Post 119 American Legion, Knights of Columbus Council #9958, Lizana, where he was a 4th degree, Woodmen of the World camp1446, and the Lizana Volunteer Fire Department.
He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Hertis Moran, his parents, Franklin and Viola Moran, and Viola Abbott, and his brothers, Buddy Moran, Glen Moran, and Eric Moran.
Survivors include his children, Marlin Moran, Marlene Moran, Mary Frances Carter, Dot (Jerry) Necaise, Jimmy (Diane) Parker, a sister, Dorothy Scott, brothers, James Moran, Norvell Moran, and Kenneth "Buster" Moran, 8 grandchildren, several great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews and other relatives.
The family would like to thank the staff of Hospice Advantage for their care and concern of Mr. Moran.
Visitation will be Tuesday, November 20, 2012 from 6 - 9 pm at the RIEMANNFAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 11280 Three Rivers Road, Gulfport. A rosary will be recited at 6 pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 1 pm Wednesday at St. Ann Catholic Church, Lizana.
Burial will be in Wolf River Cemetery.
