Danny Noonan

1950 - 2015

Waveland

Danny Noonan died peacefully at Dunbar Village Retirement Home, Bay St. Louis, on Saturday, February 21, 2015. He was born August 6, 1950 in Columbia, Mississippi, grew up in Chalmette, Louisiana, and lived in Maryland and West Virginia until he moved to Waveland in 1988. Danny's first "gig" as a drummer when he was 12 years old was with Donks Honky Tonks, a children's dixieland jazz band that traveled throughout Louisiana and Mississippi. He played with several bands while living on the east coast. After moving to Mississippi, he played R&B and rock with Hearts & Minds, The Nite Riders, and the Butch Kuhn Bank in Biloxi, and The Pat Murphy Band in Bay St. Louis. He was also an accomplished artist with paintings shown at Serenity Gallery and the Mockingbird Cafe in Bay St. Louis, and the Waveland City Hall Gallery. They were also displayed in several galleries in New Orleans, and one was auctioned on the WYES Art Auction. He was a member of The Arts, Hancock County, and was chosen as an Artist of the Week by the Sea Coast Echo.

Danny was predeceased by his parents, Morris and Grace O'Connor Noonan, and his step mother, Hazel Miguez Noonan. He is survived by his brothers, Michael Noonan (Janet) and Terry Noonan (Sissy), and his sisters, Mary Waterman (Dennis) and Maureen Evans (Ron), several nieces and nephews, a great niece, and his long time friend, Sandy Reese.

A memorial service will be held at Dunbar Village, 725 Dunbar, Bay St. Louis, at 10:00 am on Monday, March 2. The family would like to thank the staffs of Dunbar Village and Notre Dame Hospice for their loving and compassionate care of Danny. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent in his memory to The Arts, Hancock County, P. O. Box 3498, Bay St. Louis, MS 39521.

We grew up together and you were a best friend. You took up the drums when I got my set and took it to pro level. I will miss you and your sense of fairness, You will alway be in my heart and prayers.

"God Remembers Too"
Recall the smile of a loved one,
The joy they've brought to you;
Tho' they're gone, take courage
For God remembers too!

A stronghold for the joyous
And for lonely ones that hurt,
God gives us power,
He knows we're made from dirt!

Keep Him as your companion
For "two are better than one,"
and think of the resurrection
Promised by His dear son!

In that earthly paradise
A wondrous work he'll do;
And loved ones will return
For God remembers too! - Unknown

Mark 10: 27- We send our deepest, heartfelt and sincere condolences to you,

A loving heart gone. I will remember your head shaking at how crazy your lead singer in Hearts & Minds was...and how accepting you were of the craziness. Thank you for your beautiful soul.....

Danny was our drummer in Hearts & Minds. A real stand up guy. He had the driest of the dry sense of humor. Thanks for everything Danny!
