Gerald Calhoun Gex, 77, of Bay St. Louis, MS passed away on Saturday, June 8, 2013 in New Orleans , LA. Gerald was a lifelong resident of Bay St. Louis and a member of Our Lady of the Gulf Catholic Church.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Geraldine Calhoun & Lucien M. Gex, Sr. and his brother, Lucien M. Gex, Jr.
He is survived by his loving wife of 40 years, Marjoe Breland Gex of Bay St. Louis, MS; his children & spouses, Marybeth Gex Denney & Randy of Waveland, MS, Jeffrey Gex of Bay St. Louis, MS, Christine Gex Grapusa of Waveland, MS, Gerald C."Cal" Gex, Jr. & Lisa of Waveland, MS and Elizabeth Gex Lopez & Sonny of Ft. Worth, TX; 3 step-children, Terri Neyrey, Paul Lagasse & Michelle Lagasse; sister, Patricia Dickinson of Bay St. Louis, MS. He is also survived by his 7 grandsons and 1 granddaughter, Will, Clint, David, Jr., Stefan , Cal , Sam, Forrest & Kaitlyn.
He received his undergraduate degree from the University of Alabama in Pre Law where he was an active member of Sigma Chi Fraternity and his law degree from Tulane University.
He had a long and fullfilling law career in Hancock County. He was the attorney for the City of Bay St Louis, Hancock County Port and Harbor Commission, Hancock County Board of Supervisors, Waveland City Judge, Chancery Court Family Master, he was a champion for children as well as his private practice.
HE LOVED LIFE!!! He adored his family and doing things with his grandchildren. He was an avid Alabama Crimson Tide fan. He loved fishing and horse racing.
He will be sadly missed by family, friends, and everyone whose lives he touched.

The visitation will be held on Friday, June 14, 2013 from 10:00 am until 12:00 noon at Our Lady of the Gulf Catholic Church in Bay St. Louis, MS. A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be at noon and interment will be private.
Edmond Fahey Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
