Anna "Chick" Burnham

Anna "Chick" Burnham 86, of Pascagoula, MS passed away February 18th, 2014 in Vancleave, MS. Chick was born on June 13th,1927 in Laurel, MS. She retired from the City of Pascagoula as the city clerk with over 30 years of dedicated service to the citizens of Pascagoula. She was a compassionate and understanding lady. She was in charge of the cities operations of Machpelah cemetery and helped many people when problems arose. She was a member and taught Sunday school at the First Presbyterian Church of Pascagoula. She enjoyed playing bridge with her family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents John V. and Lena Gandy Sr., her daughter Elizabeth Ann Burnham.
She is survived by her children, Pam (Ronnie) McDonough, of Mobile, AL; Jim Burnham of Ocean Springs, MS.
Her grandchildren Dr. Kelby (Kristin) Burnham of East Wenatchee, WA; Dwight McDonough, Robert McDonough, and Ann McDonough all of Mobile. She will also be missed by her sister Sue (Randall) Boone of Laurel, MS; and J.V. (Zelma) Gandy Jr. of Savannah, GA.
Nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
Visitation will be Friday February 21,2014 from 10:00 am to 11:30 am at the First Presbyterian Church of Pascagoula. The funeral will begin at 11:30 am from the church sanctuary. Rev. Matt Mitchell will officiate the service. Burial will follow in Machpelah cemetery in Pascagoula.
In lieu of flowers donations, the family requests donations to be made to the First Presbyterian Church of Pascagoula.
The family would like to express their thanks to Bobbie Ferguson and Gloria Broome for their loving care and compassion and a special thanks to Dr. Marion Wainwright during Chick's illness.
