Cheryl "Sheri" Dodge Benton

1945 ~ 2014


Cheryl "Sheri" Benton, 68, passed away March 9, 2014.

Sheri was born in Moss Point, MS. She attended and graduated from Moss Point Schools in 1963. She was a retired dental hygienist. She was a member of the American Legion Gautier Post 1992 Ladies Auxiliary.

Sheri was preceded in death by her parents, Clifton and Ruth Dodge; and granddaughter, Ashton Halula.

She is survived by three children, Andrea (David) McGrew of Meridian, MS, Susan (Eddie) Halula of Latimer, MS, and Stephen D. Benton of Jacksonville, FL; Wendy Ford Owens, who was like a daughter, of Latimer, MS; brothers, Earl (Judy)Dodge and William H. Dodge; and grandchildren, Spencer Allen, Meagan Allen, Eden Benton, Nicholas Halula, & DJ McGrew. Sheri is also survived by her friend and companion, James Evans of Gautier.

A memorial service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 15, 2014 at Griffin Cemetery, Griffin Street, Moss Point. The Howard Avenue Chapel of Bradford-O'Keefe Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
