Army SGT. Larry Richard Arnold Sr., 46, of Carriere, MS, was killed in action in Iraq, on June 11, 2005.

Larry Arnold was in the Mississippi National Guard and was serving in Iraq at the time of his death. He served 8½ years in the U.S. Army and 14 years in the National Guard. He was born in St. Louis, MO, and resided in Carriere, MS with his wife of 28 years. He was an electrician by trade.

He was preceded in death by his father, Howard W. Arnold and a sister, Sandy Arnold.

Survivors include his wife of 28 years, Melinda Arnold of Carriere, MS; 3 Sons, Larry Arnold Jr. of Carriere, MS, and Robert Arnold of Carriere, MS, and Howard James Arnold of Carriere, MS; his mother, Betty Mackey of Columbia, MO; 1 Brother: Garry Arnold of Columbia, MO; 5 Sisters, Peggy Alford of Norwood, OH, Beverly Hicks of Harrisonville, MO, Janet Brandes of Simi Valley, CA, Joann Arnold of Manilla, AR, and Debbie Arnold of Bentonville, AR; 1 Grandson, Anthony Arnold of Carriere, MS, and 1 Granddaughter, Heather Arnold of Carriere, MS; 12 Nieces and 14 Nephews; 10 Great-Nieces and 11 Great-Nephews.

Visitation is Tuesday, June 21, 2005 from 2 until 9 P.M., at the MCDONALD FUNERAL HOME in Picayune, MS. Also, a short visitation will be held on Wednesday, June 22, 2005 from 11 A.M. until 12 P.M. at the MCDONALD FUNERAL HOME, with services being held at 1 P.M. at the Lee's Chapel #1 Baptist Church in Carriere, MS, with burial following at the Mill Creek Cemetery.

Rev. Donnie Boutwell will officiate at the service, and will be assisted by the Rev. Steve McKenzie.
