Jewel Toal McCaleb, 89, of Bay St. Louis MS, passed away following a very brief illness on Friday, June 7, 2013, in Gulfport, MS. She was born in New Orleans, LA, was a lifelong resident of Bay St. Louis, and a member of Our Lady of the Gulf Catholic Church. Mrs. McCaleb was a veteran, having served in the U.S. Marine Corps during WW II. She retired from the Bay-Waveland School District after 29 years as a school secretary. She is preceded in death by her husband, John Thomas "Blue" McCaleb, Jr., parents, Laura Gilbert Toal Weinberg and James Coyle Toal; sisters, Vivian Toal Winford and Nola Toal St. Pierre.
She is survived by her children and their spouses, Vicki McCaleb Arnold and Al of Bay St. Louis, Colleen McCaleb Jordan and Johnnie of Waveland, John David McCaleb and Reba of Lakeshore, and Kevin M. McCaleb and Angele of Bay St. Louis. She is also survived by 5 grandchildren, Aimee Mayfield, Gretchen Darby, Stephanie Yarborough, Brent Jordan, and Cory Jordan and 7 great grandchildren.
At her request, services will be private. Memorials in her honor may be made to her personal angel and caregiver, Darlene Storey, 4440 Kiln-Delisle Road, Kiln MS, 39556 for an addition project for her patients, or to the
Edmond Fahey Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
