Harvey Craig Henderson

September 9, 1925 - January 23, 2014


Mr. Harvey Craig Henderson, age 88, passed away on Thursday, January 23, 2014.

Mr. Henderson was a native of Belzoni, MS and had lived in Saucier for the past 13 years. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy, serving in WWII. After his military service, his employment took him around the world.

Mr. Henderson was a member of St. Peter's by-the-Sea Episcopal Church. He was an avid reader and angler.

He was a Life member of the VFW. He was the Post Commander of Post 6899, the largest post in Texas, and served in several positions in Post 2539 in Mississippi.

Mr. Henderson was preceded in death by his parents, Edward and Jesse Henderson; an infant sister; sister, Evelyn Henderson Fullbright; sister, Frances Henderson; and brother, David Henderson.

Survivors include his wife of 24 years, Johnnie Ruth Frazier Henderson; 3 children, Nancy Perittus (Carl), Gary L. Ware (Ginger) and Judith R. Moore (Barry); 4 grandchildren, Severina George, Kasey L. Lowry, Elizabeth H. Ware and Alexandra D. Ware; and 2 great-grandchildren, Ethan Lowry and Eli Lowry.

The Funeral Service will be at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, January 25 with visitation one hour prior at St. Peter's by-the-Sea Episcopal Church.

The Graveside Service will be at 1:30 p.m., Sunday, January 26 at Parkway Cemetery in Kosciusko, MS.

In lieu of flowers, donations are requested to (www.stjude.org) or flowers may be sent to the cemetery for the graveside service.
