Dorothy Mae Ruddy

Dorothy Mae Ruddy, 92, of Ft. Lauderdale, born in Eau Claire, Wisconsin, preceded by the early death of her daughter Anne Elizabeth, peacefully passed away on March 8, 2013. She is survived by her loving husband, John, of 63 years and her beloved children Michael, Maureen, Vanessa and Thomas and her cherished grandchildren Mischa, Jordan, Kiersi, Grant and Michael. She was a primary school teacher in Wisconsin and Hawaii, where she met and wed her husband and after having served her country in the Women's Army Corps during WWII. Dorothy unfailingly extended her loving heart and hands to everyone she met around the world as she masterfully led her family through challenging lives in the U.S., Europe, North Africa and the Middle East. The family will receive friends on Friday, March 15, 2013 from 6:00 to 8:00 pm with a prayer service at 6:30 pm at Fred Hunter's Downtown Ft. Lauderdale Funeral Home. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, March 16, 2013 at 12 Noon at St. Anthony Catholic Church in Ft. Lauderdale with a reception to follow. www.fredhunters.com.
