Julia Q. Shepley

Julia Quirk Elliott Shepley, known by all as "Poochie" passed away quietly after an extended illness on Sunday, January 26, 2014. Born May 2, 1940 to Dan & Jeanne Quirk, longtime residents of Ypsilanti, Michigan. Julie "Poochie" attended the Ypsilanti Grade and Roosevelt High Schools and also attended Emma Willard School in Troy, NY. Poochie graduated from Hillsdale College in 1962 and taught Physical Education in Port Huron. She married James "Blackie" Elliott in 1968 and they travelled the Bahamas extensively. He passed away in 1981. Poochie taught school 7 sold real estate and moved to Ft. Lauderdale where she was a condo manager for 11 years. She married A.T. Shepley in 1984 and he died in 2001. Poochie was an avid swimmer, golfer and tennis player. Her beloved brother, Dan "Punk" passed away in 2012. She is survived by her brother, Harrison, "Hoddy". She loved people and lived life to its fullest. She travelled extensively with her mother and in her own words, "I had a really good life and giggled my way through it." "I had a ball."
