Morton S. Neiman

Morton S. Neiman, 91, passed away peacefully in his Weston, FL home in the presence of family in the early morning hours of Monday, May 20th. He was born December 13th, 1921 in Philadelphia, PA, where he would meet his wife Anna beginning a 75 year relationship, 72 as Husband & Wife. Forever focused on making the best possible life for himself and his family, he went to Panama to work for the Panama Canal Company in 1941, gradually earning enough to bring his wife and eldest son Donald to his side. While in Panama he enlisted in the U.S. Army during W.W. II, rising to the rank of Battalion Supply Sergeant. Youngest son Harvey would be born there in 1945. The Neiman family moved to Miami in 1949 where Morton (known to friends & family as "Morty") began a lifelong career in the food industry. He would build a successful business over many years, earning the respect of many, from Georgian Farmers to Wall Street Bankers. Both prior to and following his retirement in 1988 he and Anna would travel extensively & eventually visit all but the polar continent. They were collectors of art in all forms and instilled this appreciation in their children with Donald becoming expert on and collector of American Art and Harvey a collector of beauty in the natural world. He is survived by his wife of 72 years Anna Neiman of Weston. Eldest son Donald of New York & Boca Raton. Youngest son Harvey of Coral Springs & North Carolina. Grandchildren Stuart Neiman of Weston and Jackie Neiman of California, as well as their respective mothers Andrea Sayer Neiman and Beatriz Orta Neiman. Private family services will be held at 11:00am on Thursday - May 23rd at The Gardens Memorial Park located at 4103 North Military Trail in Boca Raton.
