Stern, Morton Norman Mr. Stern was born and raised in Philadelphia, PA., where he graduated from Simon Gratz HS, in June 1942. He then served as a navigator in the Army Air Corps, 1942-45. After WWII
, he was an avid Tennis player, who became the Pennsylvania Clay-Court Champion. From 1959 to 1969, he owned and operated the Bradford Pools Co., in Bala Cynwyd, PA. From 1969 to the present, he owned and operated the Riverside Racquet Clubs in Bala Cynwyd, PA. He moved to South Florida in 1988, where he built the Miami Ice Arena in 1992. In following years, he also built the Pines Ice Arena in Pembroke Pines and the Kendall Ice Arena in Kendall. Morton passed away from a cerebral hemorrhage. He is survived by his wife, Marilyn (77), and their children, Joe (54) and Stacy (52). Services (for immediate family) will be held at The Gardens at Memorial Park in Boca Raton (date and time not determined as yet). Reception for friends and family to be held immediately afterward at their home, 16762 Rose Apple Drive A (DelAire CC), Delray Beach He was 88 years old.
