Phillip D. King passed away in his home in Pompano Beach, Florida on Thursday, October 24, 2013 at the age of 50 after a courageous battle with neuroendocrine cancer. He is preceded in death by his parents, Thomas and Evelyn (nee Collins) King. He is survived by siblings Douglas (Deborah), David (Carrie), Sara and Timothy (Heather). He was the devoted uncle of Kimberly, Jon (Genny) and Christopher (Lyndz) Freeman; and Johanna, Charlotte, Andrew, Matthew, Nathan, Liam, Dalton, Moira and Colin King. He is also remembered fondly by grandnieces Sophie and Maya as well as other family members.
Phillip was born in Columbus, Ohio. He graduated from Linden McKinley High School and Fort Hayes Career Center. He also attended The Ohio State University
. Philip was employed as an Associate Director of Training at AT&T.
Family, friends, and others whose lives Philip touched are invited to attend a memorial service on Saturday, November 23, 2013, 2:00p.m., at Schoedinger Worthington Chapel, 6699 N. High St., Worthington, Ohio. The family will receive friends from 1:00p.m. until the start of the Memorial Service.
The family is grateful for the exceptional care provided by Dr. Mayda Arias and the dedicated staff at SE Florida Hematology-Oncology. The family would also like to thank the caregivers of VITAS and the staff of the Residences at Bayview Apartments for all their kindness.
