Andrew S. Vanore

Vanore, Andrew S., 84, passed away Friday, July 22, 2011 at his daughter's home in Ft. Lauderdale, FL. Born August 8, 1926, in Philadelphia, he was the son of the late Alfred and Jennie Vanore. He served in the Navy, during World War II, protecting the Panama Canal. Andy spent most of his life in Philadelphia, relocating to Florida in 2009. His lifelong love and devotion to the game of baseball created a full life with a wide circle of friends of all ages. He spent the last twenty months with his loving family, soaking up the Florida sun and flirting with all the wonderful nurses who took care of him. He is survived by three loving children and one grandson: Jenny Carter; Andrew Vanore, Jr., his wife Anna Marie and their son, Dominic; and Deborah Vanore. He is also survived by one sister, Jean Cardo, and many nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by one sister, Jennie Pizzo; twin brothers, Sal and Nick; and sons-in-law, Jeff Belton and Al Carter. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in his memory to the Make-A-Wish Foundation or your favorite charity.
