Frances Adams Obituary

Adams, Frances (DeRita), 82, went to be with the Lord on June 1, 2011, while surrounded by family in a NC hospice. Born in Waterbury, CT. Fran was a beloved friend and community leader in Ft. Lauderdale for 50+ years. Active in PTA, the TOPS club, card clubs, Little Yankee Stadium and Edgewood Community Association. Fran was best known for her great wedding cakes and large Italian dinners for her large circle of friends. Funny, generous, loving and devoted, "the Purple lady" will be missed by many. Fran is preceded in death by her husband, Archie Adams. She is survived by her sons, Rick and Greg and their families, sister Terry Scheinblum, and a large extended family. Memorial contributions can be made in her honor to the ARC of Buncombe Co (for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities) P.O. Box 1365, Asheville, NC 28802 (828) 253-1255. We will salute her 'life well-lived' starting with a viewing 5-7pm, then a brief Memorial service at 7pm on Tuesday, June 7. All events are held at Forest Lawn Funeral (Home South) in Davie, FL (at the Pyramid). Funeral Service on Wed June 8, 11am with entombment to follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens South, 2401 SW 64th Ave, Davie FL 33317 (954) 792-9360 www.forestlawnsouth.com

My deepest condolences to the Adams family. Although I didn't know her well or for very long but you could tell that she was a woman after the Lord's heart. May God bring you comfort during this time of sorrow...Angel (BBC Connect group)
