You would be 26 years old today. As I ponder, would you be married, or engaged?Would you have your MBA and in your dream job? Still serving the Lord? That I know, all the others remained unanswered. My heart still aches. I miss you everyday. You would be so proud of Malik. He's a Gator! They say, time heals all pain, how much time? Love you always.

Lamar,Lamar it has been a year and the pain is just as sharp.....still seems like one of those dreams that u struggle to wake up from but cannot. I try very often not to question God's will. I miss hearing that husky voice and think it is ur dad and that deep laugh when I fall for the trick ,but u know what? I know the angel are enjoying it just as we did. I will ALWAYS miss u!

I love you brother. Miss you everyday. Your presence is often felt and though at times I wish you were still here, I am learning to be at peace with the fact that you're in a great place. So I will hold on to our memories and as your pastor says, make my reservations to see you again.

A year ago today I lost a great friend and a part of my support system. Lamar was like the brother I never had always there to make me smile, offer advice and encourage me. Throughout this year being in communication with you all, Mr. & Mrs. Abel, has showed me why Lamar was such a amazing person. You all are lovely people with unspeakable strength. You did a excellent job in raising a kind hearted, generous, genuine man. Thank you for doing an excellent job. Lamar's life touched many people.

You were a lot of things to many people and are missed tremendously. It still doesn't seem real that you are gone, let alone that it has been one year since you left us. I know you are in a better place, but am still sadden to have lost a great Bruh. Can't wait to join you one day! :-)

There has not been a day that has gone by in the last 12 months that Lamar has not crossed my mind. I received a phone call that truly broke my heart on this very night 1 year ago. While there will never be a replacement for someone who was one of my best friends, I am grateful for the people that he has placed in my life. I love you always Lamar. -Erica

I can't believe it has been almost a year since you've been gone. My fondest memories of senior year and college involve you in some way, shape, or form. I never expected us to get as close as we did but I'm glad we did. Your friendship still means a lot to me. Those conversations that we had are still in my mind and the littlest things remind me of you, I often find myself thinking "oh I remember when I did this with Lamar" or "I remember discussing this with Lamar". I love you and miss!

To my dearest family, some things I'd like to say...
but first of all, to let you know, that I arrived okay.
I'm writing this from heaven. Here I dwell with God above.
Here, there's no more tears of sadness; here is just eternal love.

Please do not be unhappy just because I'm out of sight.
Remember that I'm with you every morning, noon and night.
That day I had to leave you when my life on earth was through,
God picked me up and hugged me and He said, "I welcome you."

It's good to have you back again; you were missed while you were gone.
As for your dearest family, they'll be here later on.
I need you here badly; you're part of my plan.
There's so much that we have to do, to help our mortal man.

God gave me a list of things, that he wished for me to do.
And foremost on the list, was to watch and care for you.
And when you lie in bed at night, the day's chores put to flight.
God and I are closest to you....in the middle of the night.

When you think of my life on earth, and all those loving years
because you are only human, they are bound to bring you tears.
But do not be afraid to cry; it does relieve the pain.
Remember there would be no flowers, unless there was some rain.

I wish that I could tell you all that God has planned.
But if I were to tell you, you wouldn't understand.
But one thing is for certain, though my life on earth is o'er.
I'm closer to you now, than I ever was before.

There are many rocky roads ahead of you and many hills to climb;
but together we can do it by taking one day at a time.
It was always my philosophy and I'd like it for you too...
that as you give unto the world, the world will give to you.

If you can help somebody who's in sorrow and pain,
then you can say to God at night......"My day was not in vain."
And now I am contented....that my life has been worthwhile,
knowing as I passed along the way, I made somebody smile.

So if you meet somebody who is sad and feeling low,
just lend a hand to pick him up, as on your way you go.
When you're walking down the street, and you've got me on your mind;
I'm walking in your footsteps only half a step behind.

And when it's time for you to go.... from that body to be free,
remember you're not going.....you're coming here to me.

"Homesick"

You're in a better place, I've heard a thousand times
And at least a thousand times I've rejoiced for you
But the reason why I'm broken, the reason why I cry
Is how long must I wait to be with you

I close my eyes and I see your face
If home's where my heart is then I'm out of place
Lord, won't you give me strength to make it through somehow
I've never been more homesick than now

Help me Lord cause I don't understand your ways
The reason why I wonder if I'll ever know
But, even if you showed me, the hurt would be the same
Cause I'm still here so far away from home

I close my eyes and I see your face
If home's where my heart is then I'm out of place
Lord, won't you give me strength to make it through somehow
I've never been more homesick than now

In Christ, there are no goodbye
And in Christ, there is no end
So I'll hold onto Jesus with all that I have
To see you again

And I close my eyes and I see your face
If home's where my heart is then I'm out of place
Lord, won't you give me strength to make it through somehow
Won't you give me strength to make it through somehow

I've never been more homesick than now

Lamar loved the Lord and now he is with him. I love Lamar and I now miss him. The spiritual me understands that he is at home in heaven, but the fleshly (and selfish) me wants him here. Over the past six months, we went to church together every Sunday and always followed it with breakfast. I miss my friend and brother.

My prayers go out to his beautiful and loving family. You raised him to love the Lord and he has, so there is no doubt where he is. Understand that there is comfort in knowing that he is with God. A youthful angel with a smile of gold. God needed him now.
