Noel Lonschein

Noel A.F. Lonschein, age 87, of Fort Lauderdale, Florida died on Sunday, August 31, 2014, at Broward General Hospital. He was born January 12, 1927 in New York, New York to Julius and Ida Lonschein. He was a graduate of Yale University where he majored in political science, a graduate of Harvard Law School and a practicing attorney in New York City and a member of the New York Bar. He served as a captain in the Air Force Reserve during the Korean conflict. He retired to Fort Lauderdale in 1991. Noel enjoyed history, politics, the arts, fly fishing. He was an ardent golfer. An insightful, perceptive man, he was noted for his integrity, his quiet, gentle nature, and his loyalty to his friends and family. He most valued the gathering of friends, the stimulating and challenging exchange of ideas. He was constantly seeking knowledge --- books, travel, music, theater. He was preceded in death by his brother, Jerome. He is survived by his brother Irwin in Miami, Florida, his many nieces and nephews, and his loving wife Joan of 40 years. He will be celebrated privately by his loving family and friends.
