Wayne Draper Obituary

Wayne C. Draper, 64, passed away on October 23, 2013 at Hospice by the Sea, Pompano Beach, FL. He was born September 19, 1949 to Warren C. Draper and Naomi Maiden Draper in Bryn Mawr, PA. He attended Haverford Township Public Schools in Bryn Mawr and Havertown, PA, attended Albany State in Georgia and in 1973 he graduated from Eastern College, St. Davids, PA. He received his Masters in Library Sciences through the Broward County Libraries. He was employed by TV Guide early in his career. He worked for AT&T, then transferred to Florida and was employed by Bell South and then Broward County Libraries. Wayne was involved in and was a member of many civic, community and leadership organizations. Toastmasters, East Sunrise Residents Association, Police Academy of Sunrise (1997), Leadership Enhancement and Development Program are just a few. Wayne was kind, giving, loving, humorous. He loved learning and teaching. He was a hard worker and he loved family and his extended Florida family. He is survived by his sister Julia (Mikki) McLean and husband Paul, Newport News, VA; brother Barron and wife Quintine, and brother Marc of Philadelphia; six nieces and nephews; and 14 great-nieces and great-nephews; and a host of relatives and friends.
