Allman, Abbie, beloved mother and friend, Abbie Allman left us January 13th. She died peacefully in the company of family. Abbie was married to Milton Allman. They shared everything together including their August 28birthday. Family was of utmost importance to Abbie as it was to Milton. They raised two daughters, Ellen and Glenna, in Newton, MA until their move to Miami in 1958. Milton passed away in 1979. Abbie had a career with the City of Coral Gables as a code enforcement officer. She retired in 1992 and moved to Delray Beach where she developed many close friendships and enthusiastically began to travel. Her passport stamps read like roll call at the United Nations. She also loved nights playing cards and any time at all at the Casino. Abbie never lost her Boston accent. Never at a loss for words, she let you know just how she felt. You knew you were on her good side if she called "dah-ling". She is survived by her daughters Ellen Kaplan (David) and Glenna Allman (Grant); sister Phyllis Zayne; niece Janie Sheppard (David); many cousins, nieces and nephews whom she loved very much, and her close circle of Delray pals. Dah-ling, we miss you already. Services will be held at Riverside Gordon Memorial Chapels in Delray Beach (561) 496-7550 at 11am this Sunday January 16th with interment to follow at Mt. Nebo Cemetary.
