Donald R. Bunch, 87 - went to be with the Lord on August 12, 2014. Son of pioneer family fourth generation: W.E. and Dorothy (Raulerson) Bunch, Fort Lauderdale, Fl. Survived by loving wife of 64 years, Laura; daughter Nance', sons Jon' M. (Jan) and David K. ( Monica). Two grandchildren; David J. and Alexa M. Bunch. Pre-deceased by parents and brother W.E. Jr. Donald graduated in 1944 from Fort Lauderdale High School where he played basketball. A graduate from the University of Florida in 1950, B.S. Pi Kappa Alpha. Served in the army in Japan (Hokkaido) as a medic paratrooper. The fall of 1950 joined his father at Bunch Westinghouse Appliance store. In 1964 Donald joined Equitable Life Insurance. Successful career in Sales and Management. He retired in 2005. A devoted father and avid traveler he took the family on a 10,00 0 mile trip across the USA. He and Laura visited all 50 states, across Canada, Cuba, Puerto Rico, Jamaica, Europe, Scandinavia and Maritime Islands. Golf and tennis, teaching, grandson David the game and playing together. Florida Gator Alumni, Chartered Life Underwriter, Lifetime member of Methodist Church Park Temple and Christ Church where he served as a parking usher, greeter and coffee hour with Laura. Served on the Planning and Zoning Board and coached Little League baseball in Oakland Park where the family resided for 37 years. He became Mason. Memorial services are Saturday, September 6, 2014 at 1pm at Calvary Chapel Fort Lauderdale - 2401 W Cypress Creek Road, Fort Lauderdale, Fl. Reception following service. In lieu of flowers, memorial of your choice.
