Dorothy Moore, of Pompano Beach passed away on September 9, 2013. Born on February 21, 1928, in Cincinatti, Ohio, she and her husband "Bud" moved to Pompano Beach in 1955. Dorothy was employed for 27 years as a floral designer for Mae Flower Florist, which was located in "Ol' Pompano". After retiring, she kept herself deeply involved in community service through the Pompano Beach Elks Lodge #1898. It was there that she used her gifts and talents of floral design for weddings and events at the Lodge and through her beloved "Good Ol' Broads." Her hobby and passion was raising and showing Shelty dogs, many of which won numerous awards. Dorothy will be greatly missed by her daughter Conni Bessette (Rob), granddaughter Kristin, grandson Adam and great-grandson Scott Steven. Bud, her husband of 64 years passed away August 15, 2013. She is also survived by her sister Natalie Yeazell, nieces Janice Packman (David), and Judy Umsted (Ralph). Services will be held Saturday, September 14, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. at First Presbyterian (Pink) Church, 2331 N.E. 26th Ave., Pompano Beach. Dorothy's infectious laugh and fun-loving spirit touched many people and she has left her handprint on many hearts.
