Douglas Fisher Obituary

Fisher Fisher, Douglas 56, of Ft. Laud, passed away peacefully surrounded by family, on Sat, May 7th, after a brief battle with cancer. Doug was born December 25, 1954 in Ohio and was the son of Martin and Elma (Jordan) Fisher. He was a long-time resident of Wilton Manors and attended FLHS. He was an avid sports fisherman and was happiest on the ocean with friends in his faithful boat, The Strike Back, which he caringly restored. He was a most talented carpenter who took great pride in his work and was quick to help a friend with projects. He will be remembered for his wonderful sense of humor, contagious laugh and fish tales. He is survived by his three children, Demi (Chad) Gibson of IN, Marty (Stephanie) Fisher of WA, and Westley (Nicole) Fisher of FL, six grandchildren Mary Jordan, Sean, Patrick, Zachary, Ethan, Makayla, and his loving companion, Joni. He is preceded in death by a spouse, Cherie (Mullinix) Fisher and brother Greg Fisher. A private memorial service at sea will be held.

"Sorry of your loss,"Marty ,Wesley and your whole family.
I had no idea, have been out of touch with "Ft. Lauderdale"
friends til I moved back to "Gainesville",FL.

Doug and Diane use to live down the street from us,
and then later years moved right across the street.
Knew my brother "Ralph" well,also.

John Volz and I have been to many of his parties over
the years, and will miss his great sense of humor and
"Doug being Doug".

Know I am saying a special prayer for "Doug Fisher" today
and always.

Missing Dad terribly on Father's Day! I swear I heard that obnoxious, boisterous laugh all day today. I'm sure the fish are biting where he is.

Thank you everyone for well wishes. We really miss him. The last time we saw him was for cheri's memmorial service. We had a good time, went fishing and had many laughs together. He was full of stories and had a great sense of humor! That is the memmory that i will always have of my dad. Happy Father's day dad. Wish you were here to celebrate it with me. Love you.

Demi, Marty & Wesley, We were sad to hear the news about your dad. Doug was a good friend and could always make a person laugh. Also we know how he loved to fish. The last time we heard from him he called to let us know that the fish was biting and we needed to come to Ft. Laud. Our thoughts and condolences are with you at this time. Ruby & Rick
