Edward Joseph Waters, 80, died on Wednesday, March 6, 2013 surrounded by his family after a courageous battle with respiratory disease. Eddie was born on May 24, 1932 in the Bronx, NY to Joseph and Marian Waters. After graduating from Cardinal Hayes High School, Eddie served in the United States Navy during the Korean War as a radio operator. He attended Manhattan College after his military service and ultimately graduated from Marist College with a bachelor's degree in Economics. In 1962, Eddie joined the IBM Corporation in Poughkeepsie, NY as a computer operator. He and his family moved to Boca Raton, FL in 1969, where he retired as a program manager after 30 years of service. Throughout his life, Eddie was an accomplished athlete and Yankee fan. He excelled in baseball, fishing, and golf, but was known as a fantastic bowler, with two perfect 300 games during league play. He greatly enjoyed the company of his family and friends. He will be greatly missed by his children Robert and Shanna Waters, Edward and Penny Waters, Anne and Robert Laubenberger, Joseph Waters, and Kevin Waters; his grandchildren Caley Waters, Garrett Dillard, Michael, Sean, and Julianne Laubenberger; as well as his siblings Joseph Waters, Joan Keating, Nancy Waters, and Sheila Waters. A private memorial service for family and friends will be scheduled for a future date.
