James Jameson Obituary

Jameson, James William, entered eternal peace on Saturday, May 28, 2011 at home in Boiling Springs, South Carolina. James W. Jameson was born on June 13, 1946, in Chicago, IL and was in the Naval Air from 1965-1972 and then graduated from Roosevelt University with a degree in Accounting. Jim and his beloved wife Linda were married on November 5, 1982 in Kane County, IL. Through the years, Jim and Linda resided in Arlington Heights, IL; Middletown, NJ; Pompano Beach and Deerfield Beach, FL. Jim and Linda moved to Spartanburg, SC in 2006 and built their retirement home. Mr. Jameson founded Tegrit Administrators, LLC in 2005 and served as CEO to a rapidly growing recordkeeping firm in the Retirement Plan industry. A well-seasoned professional in the retirement and pension field for over 40 years, he was often sought after for consultation due to his immense knowledge of the business. An avid sports lover, Jim played for the Half Century Men's Softball league in Broward County, FL. His other hobbies included skiing, reading, worship, traveling the world and cheering on the Chicago White Sox. Jim devoted his life to the Lord and was an active member of First Baptist North Spartanburg in Spartanburg, SC and First Baptist Church in Pompano Beach, FL. He is survived by his wife Linda Jameson, son and daughter-in-law, Jeff and Kelly Jameson of Chicago, IL; daughter and son-in-law, Nancy and Mark Carlson of Lake Mary, FL; sister, Judith Bowman of Honolulu, HI and grandchildren, Abbey and Hannah Carlson of Lake Mary, FL. Let us celebrate the incredible man Jim was to his family and his service and leadership to Tegrit Administrators. May we smile when we think of his infectious hearty laugh you could hear all the way across any open space. May we be forever grateful for his relentless commitment to challenge and support his staff (professionally and personally) on a continuous basis. Jim was a mentor, leader, and friend who was devoted to his wife, family, employees, company, friends and to his church. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, June 11, 2011 from 1-3 p.m. in the Fellowship Hall of First Baptist North Spartanburg in Spartanburg, SC. In lieu of flowers, a donation can be made to the American Cancer Association of Spartanburg and Cherokee Counties, Inc. on Jim's behalf.

For more than 30 years we had the privilege of knowing Jim. He “walked the talk” and was uniquely caring of others, gentle with his advice and generous with his time and encouragement. He will be greatly missed.

Jim, will be greatly missed by many of us from the Schussers Ski Club in metropolitan Chicago. I had the priviledge to travel with both Jim and Linda on many ski vacations and camping trips. My fondest memory of Jim was his kindness and love of his friends and family. If you met Jim once he considered you a friend. His infectious laugh and warm hugs were just a few of my favorite things about Jim. He had a spiritual soul and I know his suffering on earth in his last days will be the key that unlocks the pearly gates. Jim you were loved by many and will be missed. See you at the top of the mountain.

I worked with Jim for several years In Fort Lauderdale. He was one of the truly good guys who always had a smile. I was privileged to call him a friend and colleague.

I was priviledged to know and work with Jim for the last year and a half. I thank God for his friendship, insight, and tireless efforts on behalf of Tegrit. Jim was a very hard working, hard charging man, but what impressed me the most was that Jim was not afraid to admit that he had failed at times, both personally and professionally. Most men in leadership positions are unable to show that kind of humility and transparency, but Jim was comfortable in his own skin and knew that he had found true forgiveness through Jesus Christ. May the Lord bless the memory and example of Jim to the good of our souls.
