Michael Gerald Hiznay Jr, 82, of Fort Lauderdale, died September 24, 2013. Mike was born October 26, 1930 in Jessup, PA and lived in Plymouth, PA until he joined the Air Force in 1947. He was honorably discharged in 1951 and then attended Kings College through 1953. He married Jacqueline Platt in 1957 and they lived mainly in Stratford, CT until 1977. In 1977 he married his second wife Lorraine. Mike worked for Litton Business Industries as a typewriter technician until he retired. Mike was preceded in death by his mother Agnes, father Michael Sr, his sisters Agnes Ford, Margaret Philips, Dorothy Pine, and his 2nd wife Lorraine. Mike is survived by his first wife Jacqueline Ruhter, his friend Sandy Fay, his sons Michael (Leona), John, William, Lee Serenethos, his stepdaughter Louise Gugula (Richard) and stepson Stanley Bartlett, grandchildren Richard Gugula, Lacey Gugula, Victoria Rogala (John) and great grand daughter Rosalie Rogala and other family and friends. Mike played trumpet since he was a teenager and played in many orchestras and bands throughout his life. He liked to stay active and enjoyed life very much. He was patient, kind and caring. Mike will be dearly missed by all who knew him. Mass will be at Saint Henry's church, 4PM, Friday, October 4, 1500 S. Andrews Ave, Pompano Beach. Reception will be after at Marriott North, 6650 N. Andrews, Ft. Lauderdale, Florida 5PM to 7.
