Dodd, Richard Eugene (Rich), 65, of Coral Springs, FL died peacefully Thursday morning, August 23, 2012 in Gold Coast Hospice care at Broward General Medical Center. He was born on August 10, 1947 in New York City, son of the late Eugene and Athala Dodd. Richard was a computer science pioneer, serving more than 40 years in the industry, as a programmer, software engineer and an innovator in voice-to-data networking. Most recently, Richard acted as a convergence engineer for NACR and is the former director of Avaya's Customer Solutions Lab in Miami. Richard, a longtime Coral Springs resident, will be incredibly missed and always remembered by his large and loving family. He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Elizabeth Devlin Dodd; his son Alexander Dodd of Scarborough, ME; his daughters Annmarie Dodd Hunter of New York City, Juliet Keane of Wellington, Vanessa Swanepoel of Pompano Beach, and Bridget Dodd of San Francisco; cousins Susan Simms, of Tuscon, AZ, and Carl Dinsenbacher, of Beaufort, NC; and nine grandchildren. Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m., Friday, August 24 at the Kraeer Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 1 North State Road #7, Margate, FL. Mass of Christian Burial will be said 12 Noon Saturday, August 25th at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Roman Catholic Church, 1401 Coral Ridge Dr., Coral Springs, FL.
