Ruth passed away peacefully in her home in Plantation, Florida at 84 years old on August 9, 2014.
Born January 25, 1930 in Schenectady, New York, she was the daughter of Fannie and James Canell. Ruth was a tap dancer as a child, and once danced with Bill Robinson. She enjoyed dancing her entire life.
Ruth graduated from Burnt Hills Ballston Lake High School in upstate New York. She worked as an interior decorator for her family-owned Quality Shop in Schenectady, New York, and later in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida. Ruth also worked as an interior decorator and sales person for Gattles on Las Olas in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida.
In her semi-retirement years, she worked for Gordon Drugs and Prescription Pad Pharmacy. Ruth also volunteered at the Plantation General Hospital Pharmacy Department.
She was active at Temple Beth Israel in Schenectady, NY, and Temple Kol Ami Emanu-El in Plantation, Florida.
Ruth was always a fashion-forward woman who was a model, and was even featured in a Jewish Journal ad campaign. She enjoyed the theater, arts, and was an avid movie-goer.
Ruth loved her family dearly, and was actively involved in all nine of her grandchildren's lives. She is survived by her children: Jay Bibliowicz, Marta and Bruce Cole, David and Vanessa Bibliowicz, Gregg and Cindy Bibliowicz, Shonna and Bob Loudis; Grandchildren: Rebecca and Christine Lane, Jason and Amy Bibliowicz, Joshua Bibliowicz, Jordan Cole, Michael Loudis, Ryan Loudis, Dylan Cole, Benjamin Bibliowicz, and Ilana Loudis; and Great grandson, Grayson Lane. She is predeceased by her beloved husband of 44 years, Isaac Bibliowicz, who passed in 1993.
