Becker, Carmen, 89, of Pompano Beach, FL, passed away on May 31, 2012. Born in France, she later resided in Germany with her late husband, Dr. Robert Becker before moving to East Northport, NY where they ran an insurance company, real estate business and eventually a travel agency. Carmen and Robert had two children, a daughter, Hettie, and a young son but sadly both children predeceased them. Carmen loved her dogs and ballroom dancing but was best known (along with Robert) for being the most traveled couple in the world according to the Guinness Book of World Records for several years running. Together they visited over 300 countries and territories and were the first couple on a civilian expedition to the South Pole. Carmen was a remarkable and adventurous woman and a kind-hearted friend and neighbor. She will be greatly missed by all who were fortunate enough to know her. Please join us at a Memorial Visitation and Service on Thursday, June 14, 2012 from 6-8 p.m. with a 7 p.m. Service at KRAEER FUNERAL HOME 1199 E. Sample Road. Pompano Beach, FL 33064.
