A True Pioneering Spirit Conrad Wilson Milks, September 1, 1919 through January 29, 2014 Mr. Milks had a true pioneering spirit of the West. He had integrity and honor in a time when a man's word was his bond. Born in Edmonton Canada, he lived his early life in South Dakota and Nebraska. After the death of his beloved mother, the family of five children, grandmother and father traveled by model T to upstate New York where the farmland was reported to have abundant rain fall, unlike the dry climate of the west. He graduated from McGraw High School, served in the Navy Air Force in WWII. He attended Syracuse Business College. He met Dale Carnegie there and desired to emulate him. Conrad was a self-made man and landowner in 1950's South Florida. He was brilliant. He taught himself foreign languages. His outstanding personality characteristic was one of the love of life-long learning. He enjoyed European excursions with his wife of sixty-three years. He is survived by his wife Sylvia; daughters, Michelle Hamilton and husband James, Marilyn Hurst and husband Robert, and their two children Jonathan 18 and Katherine 10. He has one sister 92, still living in Hopkinsville Kentucky. He has several nieces and nephews. His service and entombment will take place on Saturday, February 1, 2014 at Our Lady Queen of Heaven Catholic Cemetery in North Lauderdale at 11:00am. Arrangements entrusted to T.M.
