Kauth, Margaret (Maggie) Hamilton McTigue, passed away on February 13, 2014 at Broward Health Medical Center. Maggie was born on November 6, 1933 in Birmingham, AL. She moved to Ft. Lauderdale in 1947, she graduated from Ft. Lauderdale High and had an Associate of Arts degree from the University of Florida. At the University of Florida, she was a member of Delta Delta Delta Sorority. She was on the Ft. Lauderdale Swim Association Team for five years. Maggie won a gold medal at The Junior National Championship Meet including setting a record. She won other medals around the country. Maggie was active in the Junior League of Ft. Lauderdale having been on their Executive Board for over seven years. (Assistant Treasurer, Treasurer, and Nominating, Admissions, Advisory Planning, By-Laws Chairman, Parliamentarian, and Sustaining President). She was on the Board of Directors of the Museum of Art and Hospice 100. She has served as President of the Seven Isles Neighborhood Association and President of the Trails End Association in Breckenridge, CO. Maggie and her husband, Robert R. Kauth are members of the Lauderdale Yacht Club. Professionally, Maggie was a licensed Real Estate Broker and owned Las Olas Realty, Inc. and was a licensed Interior Designer. Maggie is preceded in death by her parents, Foster Hartgraves Hamilton and Margaret Gunter Hamilton Hawkins. In addition to her husband of 38 years, Robert R. Kauth, she is survived by her daughters, Deborah M. McTigue Figler and Sarah McTigue Tuthill of Ft. Lauderdale and Julia McTigue Jacobs of Atlanta, GA; son-in-laws, Robert Tuthill, Donald Jacobs and George Figler; six grandchildren, Matthew Greenley, Heather Greenley, Daniel Jacobs, Martin Jacobs, Arabella Tuthill and Juliet Tuthill and sister, Gaye Hamilton Harris of Birmingham, AL. The family will receive friends on Saturday, February 15, 2014 from 2:00 to 4:00 pm at Fred Hunter's Funeral Home, 718 S. Federal Highway, Ft. Lauderdale. In lieu of flowers the family request donations be made to the Cleveland Clinic Foundation, 2950 Cleveland Clinic Blvd, Weston, FL 33331.
