Sister Clare Ellen Wittman, O.S.C., a Poor Clare nun of Christ the King Monastery died peacefully March 8, 2014 at Lourdes Residence in West Palm Beach. She was born on September 27, 1928 in Cleveland, Ohio and after high school entered the Poor Clare Colletine Monastery there in 1946. Later, she transferred to the Poor Clare Monastery of Christ the King in Delray Beach, FL. She was very artistic and gave generously of her gifts. She is survived by her brother, Dan (Donna) Wittman and sisters, Lee (Carl) Williams; Joan (Deacon Joe) Johnson and Karen (Tom) Tischler and many nieces and nephews. The monastery will receive visitors from 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, March 13, 2014 at Christ the King Monastery, 3900 Sherwood Boulevard, Delray Beach, Florida. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, March 13, 2014 at the Monastery followed by burial at Our Lady Queen of Peace Cemetery in Royal Palm Beach.
