Irene Marie Evers, 97, of Wilton Manors, passed away April 29, 2014. She was born in Chicago, IL and moved to Ft Lauderdale in 1946. She spent her career working as a legal assistant for the late attorney Philip Dressler, and truly loved her work. She also loved to garden, travel, and spend time with family and friends. She enjoyed many cruises with her longtime companion and SS Norway magician Eddie Cotts, who predeceased her in 1996. She was a faithful and active member of First United Methodist Church in Ft Lauderdale for more than 50 years where she developed many close friendships. Irene celebrated life to the fullest, and her magical spirit lit up every room she was in. She will be forever missed by her devoted family and friends. Survivors include many nieces and nephews: Derek, Stephanie, Angelica, Lynda, Kayleigh, Zoe, Angel, and Devon. Arrangements through Kraeer Fairchild Funeral Home.
