DONALD G. WORDEN, 82, passed away Saturday, May 31, 2014, peacefully in Fort Lauderdale, FL. Don was born in 1931 in Racine, Wisconsin where he graduated from William Horlick High School. He then attended University of Wisconsin. He had fond memories of playing the drums in the Drum & Bugle Corps as a teenager. He met his wife Greta on a voyage from Europe and they married in 1958. He founded Worden & Worden, Inc., a stock market newsletter publishing company, in 1960. He was a pioneer and leader in stock market research. Some of his many innovative contributions to institutional and self-directed investing include Worden Tape Reading Studies, The Optioneer, Tick Volume, and Money Stream. In 1994, Don received a lifetime achievement award for his outstanding contribution to technical analysis of the stock market by the Market Technicians Association. His sons continue his tradition through Worden Brothers, Inc., publishers of online stock market analysis products. He was a devoted father and grandfather who loved nothing more than being with his family. He is survived by his former wife of 33 years and mother of his children, Greta, of Fort Lauderdale; sons, Peter (Michele) of Fort Lauderdale, Christopher (Wendy), and Jon (Cindy) both of Wilmington, NC; grandchildren, Greta Anne, Michael, Matthew, Nicholas, Joseph, Zachary, and Jacob; brother Curt Worden, of Rockford, IL and sister Stephanie Meyer, of Chapel Hill, NC. A memorial service will be held Wednesday, June 4, 2014 at 2:00 pm at Christ Church United Methodist, 4845 NE 25th Avenue, Fort Lauderdale, FL 33308.
