Rochelle Pearl of Boynton Beach passed away on Friday, June 13, 2014. An elegant, gentle and sweet woman, she always looked at the positive side of life. Along with the inner beauty she radiated, she had a mind that was quick and sharp until her last breath. Her genuine interest in others and graceful kindness touched all who knew her. Born in Bronx, NY, she moved to South Florida in her twenties with her loving parents Tillie and Saul Belenke and her brother Burton, and felt she had arrived in paradise. She met her late, devoted husband of 62 years, Elliot Pearl, at a Navy dance on Miami Beach, settled there and raised three children. Always bright and curious, when her children were grown, she returned to the University of Miami to earn a degree in English literature. Rochelle taught briefly, and then went on to energetically practice real estate for 20 years before moving to Boynton Beach. Forever a lover of art, movies, music and biographies, she more recently became an enthusiastic bridge player and passionate tennis and golf fan. Rochelle is survived by her three adoring children, Michael, Mitchell (Connie) and Bonnie Pearl; two cherished grandchildren Teddy and Jordy Pearl; beloved brother Burton Belenke; sister-in-law Sydel Coslow and many wonderful nieces and nephews. Funeral Services will be held, Tuesday, June 17 at 12:15 pm at Beth Israel Memorial Chapel, 11115 Jog Road, Boynton Beach and led by her niece, Rabbi Enid C. Lader. The family requests donations in memory of Rochelle be made to PBS, Hadassah, Jewish Federation, or any arts organization.
