Davis, John H., Jr., 78, left this world on Oct. 23, 2008 after a courageous battle with cancer. John was born in Jenkins County, GA on July 13, 1930 and moved to Miami, FL in 1949 and for a length of time resided in Ocala, FL. He is predeceased by his loving wife, Lucille Virginia of 42 years. From 1945-1946 John was in the Merchant Marines and continued his military service with the U.S. Marine Corps from 1946-1949. John was a journeyman lineman for 45 years and a proud member of Local Union 728 and 222 of the IBEW. He was a Master Mason initiated in 1962 and past Master of Opa Locka Lodge 287. He was a member of the Scottish Rite and Mahi Shrine. He was a devoted father, grandfather and brother. He will be truly missed by the following survivors: four daughters Doris Gleason, Pam Spitzer, Gina Garrison and Laurie Rivera; 12 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren; sister Doris Peak and brother Charlie Davis, Sr. (C.I.). Visitation will be held Monday October 27, 2008 from 6 PM to 7 PM. A Masonic service will be held at 7 PM. On Tuesday October 28, 2008 visitation will be held 9-10 AM with a funeral service at 10:00 AM, followed by a military graveside service.
