Webster Webster, George S George S. Webster died in Delray Beach, Florida on February 11, 2011. He was a graduate of Germantown Friends School in Philadelphia, Harvard College (class of 1949), and the University of Pennsylvania Law School. A retired lawyer, he was for 12 years General Counsel of UGI Corporation, a diversified gas and electric utility in Eastern Pennsylvania. Following his retirement in 1980, he became active in the health care field and was a pioneer in trying to contain health care costs. For 13 years he was Chairman of the Pennsylvania Health Hearing Board which has jurisdiction over hospital costs and licensure. He also served for a number of years as Vice-Chairman of the Board of Methodist Hospital and Magee Rehabilitation Hospital in Philadelphia and was active in hospital trustee associations on both a state and national level. During World War II he served in the infantry in Europe with Patton s Third Army and received the Combat Infantry Badge, three battle stars, and the bronze star. He was a life time member of the Union League of Philadelphia. He is survived by his brother Maurice A. Webster, Jr. and his sister Helen Webster Peterkin.
