Proffer, James Robert (Bob) 61 passed peacefully in Salt Springs, Florida on November 5, 2012 surrounded by his loving family. He was born on June 25, 1951 in Van Nuys, Calif. to Morris and Dorothy Proffer. Bob is now reunited in heaven with his parents, grandparents (Charlie and Rosa Lee Lett, Henry and Nora Proffer), numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. Bob is survived by his wife and best friend, Diane Day Proffer. He was the love of her life. She will dearly miss his smiling face, his little puns, and being able to hold him. Memories of their 20 years of marriage will be a comfort to her until they are reunited in heaven. Bob is also survived by his son Jason (Hazel), grandson Aidan, brothers Chuck (Sue), Paul (Louise) and Joe (Val), twin sister (ex womb mate) Betty (Gary) Benivegna, little sister Sue (Steve) Barnes, Aunt Jo Horton and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Bob was a voracious reader and loved the outdoors. His sparkly blue eyes, infectious laugh and "unique" sense of humor will be missed by all. A celebration of his life will be held at 2 p.m. on Sunday, November 11, 2012 at his sister Betty's home. Please contact Betty or Paul for details. Donations in his memory can be made to St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital, the Children's Diagnostic & Treatment Center/CFAP in Fort Lauderdale, Fla or to the Children s Aid Society in Fort Lauderdale, Fla.
