Block, Stuart Lee, of Fargo, ND, and Coconut Creek, FL, passed away on Wednesday, November 14, 2012, due to a sudden illness. He leaves to mourn his loss; his brother, Dr. Russell Block in Munich, Germany; his paternal uncle, Leonard Block of Miami; his dear friend and longtime companion, Aino K. Lautsio-Riccitello, of Lake Worth, FL; an extended family of special cousins, including; Diane Ruchelman of Virginia, Dr. Jonathon Hoffberger, and Dr. Darren Hoffberger of Broward County, and many friends in Florida, North Dakota, and Colorado. Stuart was predeceased by his beloved parents, Murray Block in 2005 and Cecilia Hoffberger Block in 2010. Stuart was born in New Rochelle, NY and lived and attended schools in North White Plains, NY. He obtained a BA in Journalism from the University of Iowa and worked as a counselor in the banking and finance sector during his career in New England and the Midwest. He travelled extensively in the U.S. and enjoyed a multitude of interests including; urban architecture and design, music, communication technology, politics, and history, and was an accomplished naturopath and chef. Stuart, a person who possessed an inspirational breadth of intellect and knowledge, deep passion and sensitivity, a mischievous and keen sense of humor, a loyal, caring and kind spirit, and a special voice both in its content and its tone, will be deeply missed and forever remembered. Special gratitude is extended to the EMS services of Coconut Creek, and to Dr. Jonathon Hoffberger, and the VC ICU medical staff at the NW Medical Center in Coconut Creek for their valiant and compassionate care of Stuart, who is an organ donor through the University of Miami.
