Patricia Meyers

Meyers Meyers, Patricia, the wife of the late Irving H. Meyers, of Pompano Beach, passed away on December 26, 2012 in the home of her daughter and son-in-law, Sally and Jonathan Kovler of Chicago, Illinois. She was 89 years young. Married for 58 years, Patty and Irving Meyers met in August of 1945 in Atlantic City, New Jersey. Irving, a resident of Atlantic City, had just returned home from his distinguished service in the Air Force in WW II and Patty was vacationing in Atlantic City with her family. Their mothers fixed them up and they were apparently right to do so. Patty and Irv were engaged nine days after they met and married two months later. They lived in Philadelphia where they raised their two daughters, Sally Kovler and Nancy Meyers. Patty was the beloved older sister of the late Sissy Bershad and Tony Lemisch. She was the proud grandmother of Casey (George), Annie (Robby) and Hallie and joyful great grandmother to Ruby and Mac. Patty was an interior designer in Pompano Beach for the past 40 years, an active member of her community and a friend to all. Her generous spirit, astute sense of humor and warm laughter will be missed by all who knew her. Patty?s granddaughter Casey remembers her grandmother this way, ?Being at Granny?s house was my favorite place to be. The doorbell was always ringing, friends were dropping by, and we were always in the middle of a project; sewing, painting, or glueing. She invented DIY. My Granny cared about everybody. It didn?t matter if you were her upholsterer or her grand daughter, she treated everyone the same. Granny showed me the way to be plain and simple, and for that I am ever grateful.?
