Dear family of Dr. James Wolff. I was privileged to be a child patient of his in the 1950's and early 1960's at Columbia Presbyterian Hospital. In many ways, he was responsible for saving my life. He was always there, very kind -- and incredibly knowledgeable! Later, I also came across him when I was a high school student at Ethical Culture/Fieldston, where he was also our Supervising physician. Sincerest condolences to you all -- he was a true giant in the field -- and an incredibly nice man! Sincerely, Ashoka "Ash" Varma

As part of Dr. Wolff's extended family of patients, my sincere condolences and prayers for grace to be with you at this time. As a 5 year luekemia patient at Babies Hospital under his care from age 11-15, we went through many a battle together with him having to tell my parents on many occasions that I would not make it through the night. I could not imagine how this must have been for him. I am now 54 with a beautiful Wife and 16 year old daughter, thanks to our Lord and the lifetime work and dedication of Dr. Wolff. The work of His life has given me mine.
Again, my sincere prayers for peace to be with you at your time of need.
