Wood, Karen L. - age 62 of the Tellico Village Community, Loudon, TN passed away on April 1, 2013 after battling Pulmonary Hypertension for ten years. She was the manager of Labor and Delivery in both Coral Springs and Florida Medical Center South and Director of Maternal Services at Plantation General Hospital. In her lifetime she gave so much happiness to families by bringing countless babies into the world. She was the best wife, mother, sister and friend a person could ever ask for. Karen was preceded in death by her parents, Larry and Jane Headla; and her niece, Michelle. She is survived by her loving and devoted husband of 39 years, Jim Wood; daughters Lisa (Bob) Trites, Christine (Chris) Cavo, and Jennifer Wood all of Sunrise, FL; grandchildren Emma, Abigail, Leah, Kayla and Kelsi all to whom she is a true guardian angel on earth; sister Kathy (Austin) Quinn ; brother Tom Headla; sister-in-law Barbara (Gary) Joines; several nieces and nephews; and many life long friends. A Memorial Service will be held at a later date in Ft. Lauderdale, FL.
